Derek Maxson, Chairman

Derek has been an elder since 2004 and at Sierra Bible since 1997 serving in music, teaching, college and children’s ministries.  He and his wife, Christy, love mountain biking and have 3 daughters.  Derek has a Seminary degree, holds a technology patent, and was a participant in the world’s largest pillow fight.  Their 15 years at Sierra Bible have transformed their faith and their concept of Church.  Sierra Bible has given them a much greater sense of the call of God to make an impact in the community through service and giving.

The Kids’ Ministries are certainly a hit with their daughters and now, as they begin the teenage years, they look forward to those important stages of development through SBCs youth ministry.  Christy serves as the leader of Women’s Ministries and loves to teach and counsel.  Derek likes to do a little bit of a lot of ministries in the church — especially teaching and worship ministries.  His passion for the church is to see Sierra Bible develop the next generation of leaders and enable them to reach the postmodern adults.

Craig Pedro

Craig is a Tuolumne County native.  His family roots to the County extend back to the 1850s when they came to mine gold.  After graduation from local schools, Craig earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration with a Business Minor from Fresno State.  He has been married to his college sweetheart, Ruth, for over 32 years.  They have 3 grown children (William, James and Christa) and 1 granddaughter (Olivia).  Ruth is a substitute teacher.  Craig currently serves as the Tuolumne County Administrative Officer.  They enjoy the mountains and coast and spending time with their family and many close friends.

Craig and Ruth have been active members of Sierra Bible Church since 1984.  Craig has served in a variety of ministries at SBC over the years: worship team, AWANA, Junior High, High School, adult Sunday School, short-term missions, financial counseling, Building Committee and Board of Elders.  Ruth has been involved in many of the same areas, as well as serving as a leader in Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) and Moms in Prayer.  They see their ministry role evolving to that of mentors and coaches to the next generation of believers at SBC.

Ralph Milnik

Ralph is 58 years old and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Ginny, for 35 years.  They have four adult children (ages 21-31).  They grew up in Southern California (Orange County) and moved to Sonora in 1987 where they have attended Sierra Bible for 25 years and have been involved in various ministries including kids, Awana, high school, worship, Moms in Prayer (Ginny), building committee, and elders.  Ralph was also the Project Manager for construction of the Family Life Center in 1999.  Ralph is a realtor for Prudential California Realty, and his wife, Ginny, teaches at Sonora Elementary School.  Favorite past-times include skiing (water and snow), biking, backpacking, fishing, tennis, and playing guitar.  Fun fact:  Before moving to Sonora, Ralph was the manager of the “world’s largest indoor ski resort” in Southern California.

Mark Wildoner

Mark and Louise have been married for 30 years and have been attending Sierra Bible Church for almost 23, where they have raised their four boys ages 19-28.  Mark has enjoyed teaching in various ministries and has also been given the opportunity to preach a number of times over the years.  It was a ‘love at first sight’ moment for Mark and Louise when they first met while in college in the Bay Area, where Mark completed a BS in Business Administration and Louise went on to become a 3rd grade teacher.  She is currently the caregiver for their disabled son, coordinates the churches Front Porch newcomers team, manages with our son Chad the recycling program for wells for Hope For the Nations, and keeps all the men in the house happy with her tasty cooking.  The entire family participates in raising funds for a cure for Chad’s disease.

Mark has also done extensive work on a theology degree from Western Seminary and has just graduated with another BS degree in Nursing.  He is looking to work at Sonora Regional Medical Center and begin some mission trips in the future.  Together, the family enjoys traveling, adaptive quading and surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, water volleyball, tennis, and every day the Lord gives them!

Matt Frediani

Matt began attending Sierra Bible Church as a single back in the mid 1990′s.  A few years after becoming a Christian, he married the love of his life, Stephanie. They now have three children – Payton (11), Samuel (9) and Noah (3).  Matt and Stephanie are passionate about serving and encouraging young families in the church and small group ministry.  Matt’s ministry experience includes youth ministry, children’s ministry, small groups, Foster Care, short-term missions projects and outreach to the local homeless population.  Matt and Stephanie are strong advocates for Foster Care and adoption, especially to families who are part of the body of Christ.

Stephanie is a stay-at-home mom who home schools their three children.  She is a terrific cook, so they love to have people in their home.  Matt is an insurance agent at Cutler Segerstrom Insurance Agency.  In his free time, he enjoys endurance sports, reading, drinking coffee, making pizza and SF Giants baseball.

Walter Moberg

Walter and his wife, Becky, had been married for 37 years before Becky passed way. They have attended Sierra Bible Church for around 15 years. They have 2 children, Jonathan and Sara, and Walter currently runs the Tuolumne County Children’s Emergency Shelter. He loves children and has volunteered in SBC’s Children’s Ministry for many years.

Mark Levering

Pastor Mark has been the Founding and Senior Pastor of SBC since 1973, and feels greatly blessed by God to be able to say this – something never even imagined after graduation from Dallas Theological Seminary. He and Evalyn, a retired teacher from Soulsbyville Elementary School, have three children and seven grandchildren. They love the outdoors, visiting Yosemite, vacationing in Mammoth, and hiking Pinecrest Lake regularly.
