Worship Ministries
I would like to invite you to get involved in serving in the Worship ministries. There are opportunities for everyone. Read about them below, pray about how you can step up and then…do it!
- Sound, Lights, Projection Techs - This ministry is vital to the effectiveness of our outreach and ministry on Sunday mornings. If you like computers, sound, lighting design and programming then jump in. Even if you are a novice and are willing to be trained, we’ll take you! Contact Pastor Michael (michael@sierrabible.com) or Steve Wilson (stevewilson@sonnet.com) to express your interest.
- Service Coordinators – Service coordinators keep things and people running smoothly on Sunday mornings by assisting with sound checks and rehearsals as well as calling cues for people to be where they need to be and when. Being friendly but assertive is helpful for this ministry. Contact Pastor Michael (michael@sierrabible.com) or Gerri Lough (gerri@sonorarentals.com) to express your interest.
- Sierra Praise Choir – Beginning in September, the Sierra Praise Choir will be leading worship one time per month during Sunday morning services with rehearsal on the Wednesday night before at 7 PM. This ministry is a great place to get known and to get to know others. It is the entry level ministry for future involvement in other areas of the music and worship ministries at Sierra Bible Church. In the past, involvement in this ministry has been on a “come-one, come-all” basis. That is changing. If you want to participate in this ministry, you have to be committed to it and must make plans to participate in the ministry on the scheduled dates. No auditions are necessary but a Ministry Participant Covenant must be completed. Contact Pastor Michael (michael@sierrabible.com) or Robyn Brooks (rbrooks@sierrabible.com) to express your interest.
- On-mike Singers – On-mike singers are those gifted to communicate by both vocal ability and stage presence in a more up-front way. Strong vocal ability and a great level of commitment are required. Contact Pastor Michael (michael@sierrabible.com) to express your interest.
- Instrumentalists – Competent instrumentalists are always needed and welcomed for bands and seasonal orchestras. Expectations are high for all instrumentalists in regard to band rehearsal time and individual preparation time. Contact Pastor Michael (michael@sierrabible.com) your interest.
- Bell Choir – Sierra Bible Church English Handbell Choir serves the Lord in a music ministry to this congregation and our community in an atmosphere of joyful fellowship which encourages growth of each individual musically and spiritually. Contact Doreen Bass (Director and Head Ding-a-ling) at 533-8374 (bassd@yosemite.edu) for more information.
- Messenger Drama Troupe – This group makes the “Word” come alive in a variety of drama scenes, reader’s theatres, host introductions, dramatic readings and narrations. Actors with ability and some experience, of all ages are needed! Contact Pastor Michael (michael@sierrabible.com) or Deb Albrecht (dramamamadeb@hotmail.com) to express your interest.
- Friendship Ministries Hosts (Ushers, Greeters, Shuttle Drivers) Friendship Ministries is one of our most important “front-line” ministries. The friendliness of this group is extended to help everyone feel at home at Sierra Bible Church. Involvement in this ministry as a host is as diverse as driving our parking shuttles, greeting, or ushering. Contact Robyn Brooks (rbrooks@sierrabible.com) to express your interest.
