We have a big world that sometimes shrinks in the Hand of God.  Over 450 people poured into the family life center for a couple of hours on Monday Night.  It was a fun atmosphere in which to connect  with kids that love music.  It was a great time to see kids I hadn’t in some time, but it was more than loud music, hot dogs, nachos, a bake sale and friends.

The lead singer of one of the bands talked about how he had been impacted by a young Haitian pastor that had received some training and resources from his father’s church in Texas.  He told stories about how this young man had recently pulled family and church members out of the earth after the shake a couple of weeks ago.  He talked about how this pastor, his church and their partner orphanage they are feeding over 10,000 mouths a day.  Then he smiled.  When asked by our local group of Sonora youth pastors if we could use the funds raised through this concert to support a church in Haiti the bands had said yes.  When they asked what ministry we wanted to funnel the resources through it was apparent once again that God was at work…same church…same pastor that had spent time in Texas with him.  We have a big world that sometimes shrinks in the Hand of God.
