Sierra Bible Church Food Pantry & Needs Network

In an effort to meet the increasing needs of people in our community, Sierra Bible Church is expanding its Food Pantry and Needs Network ministries.

The Food Pantry exists to demonstrate the love of Christ by praying, listening, caring and providing for people in need.  We mainly provide groceries for the homeless, indigent and low-income families of Tuolumne County. You can get involved by designating giving to this ministry, volunteering to be a facilitator or donating needed food items like cereal, tuna, canned soups & stews, chili, mac-n-cheese, pasta sauce & pasta, toilet paper, Hamburger Helper, Rice-a-Roni—bring your donations to the church office or to the church on Sundays.

This ministry is available at the Sierra Bible Church office Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m..  Walk-in clients will meet with a support facilitator for a needs assessment as a part of providing services to meet their individual needs.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Sign-up to be a support facilitator. Support facilitators build relationships through the ministry of Food Pantry by providing leadership coverage once a week for three hours (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.) at the church office to greet walk-ins and facilitate needs.
  • Donate to the Sierra Bible Church Food Pantry Fund.

SBC is now an ATCAA Food Bank.  This means we are able to obtain large amounts of food for a very small shipping price.   If you want to make a donation, you may either bring in non-perishable food items to the church office (M-F) or make a check to SBC and designate it for the “Food Pantry.”  We will use this fund to offset the shipping costs while maximizing our food.

Our Needs Network is a ministry for those in the SBC family.  The goal of this program is to connect people who have needs with those who can meet that need through the use of an email matching program.  A person who is in need of a ride to church or the doctor, needs a refrigerator or washer and dryer, needs some financial advice or a listening ear, can email that need to needs@sierrabible.com.  Once a week, the list of needs will be emailed to all those on the SBC email list.  If someone is willing to meet that need, then contact information will be shared.  This is a great opportunity to take what you have and share it with others.
