Bible

We believe that teaching, and preaching, along with the personal study of God’s Word, is the most effective catalyst for transformation in people’s lives. We are committed to the clear, accurate and practical communication of the Bible. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)

Prayer

We believe in the power and importance of prayer. We are committed to individual and corporate prayer as a demonstration of our complete reliance on God. “The effective prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16)

Outreach

We believe that lost people matter to God, and they matter to us as well. Through our lifestyle, ministries, and biblical teaching, we are committed to reaching people with the Good News of Jesus Christ, both locally and internationally. We are Christ’s ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, ”Be reconciled to God!” (2 Corinthians 5:20)

Community/LifeGroups

We believe the church is to be characterized by loving relationships. Healthy relationships and spiritual growth are fostered most effectively in lifegroups where authentic community can be experienced. We’re committed to developing LifeGroups that facilitate relationship-building, stimulate spiritual growth and develop leaders. “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35)

Worship

We are committed to worship that brings glory to God, builds up the body of Christ, and is an attractive witness to introduce others to Jesus. “Come let us bow down in worship. Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.” (Psalm 95:6-7)

Ministry

We believe that God calls every Christ-follower to serve. We are committed to helping believers discover, develop and deploy their spiritual gifts in ministry to build up the body of Christ. Everyone in God’s family matters! “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

Servant Leadership

We believe that God calls the pastoral staff and other church leaders to serve with humility, authenticity, integrity, and courage. We are committed to empowering leaders to lead and to maintaining love, loyalty and unity within our leadership team. At SBC, the Elders have the ultimate responsibility for the oversight of Christ’s people. “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseer – not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” (1 Peter 5:2-3)

The Grace of Generous Giving

Families are expensive! And the more children you have, the greater the expenses! In God’s family, our giving must always be in response to God’s direction, and thus a matter of obedience with gratefulness that God has so richly blessed our lives. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
