Local Outreach

SBC is involved in several community service outreach ministries:

* Food For Thought – Weekly outreach providing meals to the homeless in our community.  We also continue to collect new/used candles and canisters of white gas (Coleman camp fuel) for distribution. Food items such as bottled water, fruit cups or drinks, bagged chips and snack bars are helpful.  In addition, there is a smaller group that meets weekly for fellowship, Bible study and laundry at the Laundromat, which has created laundry soap as an ongoing need.

If you are looking to directly serve in some way, please feel free to contact Becky (532-7641).

* Interfaith Community Social Services – Providing volunteers and finances for those facing misfortune.  Open from 10:00 to 1:00 Monday through Friday.

* SBC “Food Pantry”.  In coordination with the Community Needs Network, food will be distributed on Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church office.

* SBC Family Emergency Fund – for families in crisis and to help support the Food Pantry.

* Foothill Pregnancy Center – Providing volunteers and finances; helping men and women in crisis choose life.

* Habitat for Humanity – volunteers helping build homes.

* Sierra Conservation Center – prison ministry in Jamestown.
