Mission Statement
To implement lasting change with immediate action by coming alongside the Jamestown community to support and strengthen relational, physical and spiritual needs.
SBC is committed to being ‘boots on the ground’ in the Jamestown community connecting, learning and implementing strategies of healing, health and hope. We are working with caring individuals in the community, leaders and teachers at Jamestown Elementary, and business leaders, understanding the felt and expressed mental, emotional and social needs in the community. The on-going aim is to identify gaps and develop opportunities to meet those. We are supporting and building interactions across all socioeconomic levels, developing relationships, and familiarizing people with helpful resources while helping those in need navigate toward receiving needed services.

As the Jamestown Initiative continues to build, please consider joining our volunteer team! With school starting, we’d love to have lots of help brainstorming and crafting ideas for the kids and community.
Year One Plan:
- Partner (as individuals or teams) with Jamestown Elementary School in programs they are already doing (tutoring, parent education classes, etc) to support and enrich in relationally as well through the meeting of tangible needs.
- Brainstorm and develop community development programs involving local people (both those in need and those not) to be a part of building up the overall community.
- Identify families or students that need additional support and create a holistic community safety net.
