MINISTRY UPDATE: FRIENDSHIP TEAM
As we interviewed Terri this week, it seemed only fitting to also share more about the Friendship Ministry here at Sierra Bible Church. As she mentioned on the blog, Terri began serving with this team a couple of years ago at the suggestion o f Pastor Nate Levering during one of their Bible studies (and we are so very glad he did).
The Friendship Ministry now consists of about fifty people and are continuing to look for more as the needs and congregation grows. From greeting outside of the Kids Ministry building and Worship Center, to chauffeuring you from your car to our front door, serving pastries and coffee in our outdoor Commons area, and providing communion, the Friendship Ministry Team has a wide reach.
You've likely heard one of our pastors reference the Welcome Center as they're encouraging newcomers to get plugged in. It's the small building at the front of the Commons when you walk out of the Worship Center. I'll give you an extra mint or chocolate on Sunday if you can tell me five things about what the Welcome Center offers! Ok, ok. Enough bribery for a church blog. But in all seriousness, the Friendship Ministry team utilizes that space as a hub for the books we recommend, LifeGroup handouts, event sign-ups and MORE. This team is ridiculously talented and generous, and we are very grateful for their hearts. Be sure to greet them this Sunday!
