Congregational Meeting Update
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING UPDATE: JUNE 22, 2022
Thank you for joining the pastors and elders during our Congregational Meeting on Monday, June 20. Here are the highlights and proposals that were discussed:
BUILDING OUT OUR CAMPUS
Elder, Steve Orth, walked through the success of the walking trail and disc golf course, as well as blueprints and property layout of the proposed Student Ministry building that will include multiple classrooms and a large gathering space. Stay tuned for more information on our fundraising campaign!
BUILDING OUT OUR LIVES
Elder, Don Broesamle, discussed the privilege he has had walking alongside the Men's Ministry while they meet regularly and journey through the Old Testament story of Elijah together. As he and his wife, Linda, serve in Kids Ministry, they also have seen the growth of new families and are thrilled by what God is doing in our Promiseland building.
BUILDING OUT OUR KIDS
Kids Ministry Director, Rachel Tidwell, praised her team of staff and 150+ volunteers who served countless hours and poured so much love on 400+ kids during Vacation Bible School last week.
BUILDING OUT OUR TEAMS
Worship Pastor, Bryan Stanton, shared the goals met from last year's Congregational Meeting in regards to new lighting in the Worship Center and the success of our livestream up and moving to record Sunday mornings. The Worship Team is currently composed of 42 individuals, from on-stage presence to the sound booth and everything in between. Bryan is so grateful for this team and is currently looking for an assistant. Moving forward, Bryan and his team are developing team leadership within the specific worship ministry teams.
Pastor, Nate Levering, shared more about the transition that has carried not only to the pastoral staff but also to the support staff as there have been a few part time employees hired over the last year. Pastor Nate's commissioning service will be on July 3 as the new Lead Pastor.
BUILDING OUT THE MISSION
Missions Team Member, Nathan Milnik, shared some of what our Missions Team is doing locally and around the world. Currently, Sierra Bible Church supports 11 couples/ individuals, 6 churches, 2 global organizations and 4 local organizations. One of the churches we partner with is in Ukraine and our church body has given $47,000+ to support that church as they have set up a refugee center and continue in ministry.
